Hankar




Hankar, the highest village in the Markha valley of Leh District, is a picturesque place located at an altitude of 3900 m. It is an ideal destination for the adventure enthusiastic. Main attraction is the ruins of an ancient fort with steep walls. Visitors get an astonishing view of the Nimaling Peak (6000 m) from here. On the way to the Markha valley, one can also see the Markha Riverflowing into the valley of the Indus. The encampment of Nimaling is easily accessible from here. Overnight camping facilities are available for the tourists.
