Hanagal is on the left bank of the Dharma River. It is famous for its Tarakeshwara temple with a wonderful sequence of figures and polished tall Chalukyan pillars. The other places of worship are Virabhadra, Billeshwara, Ramalinga and Veerashaiva Kumaraswamy Matha.
