Haidargarh is a taluk headquarters in Bara-Banki District. It lies on the National Highway 56 and is about 45 km south-east of Bara-Banki.

Lucknow, the state capital, is about 56 km north of Haidargarh. Haidargarh Railway Station is on the Lucknow – Sultanpur rail route. Nearest airport is Amausi Airport.
