Gurdwara Nim Sahib

Associated with the ninth Sikh preacher, Guru Tegh Bahadur, Gurdwara Nim Sahib is located at Akar village in Patiala District. Devotees come here to see a Margosa tree planted in the Gurdwara premises. It is believed that when Guru Tegh Bahadur pulled off a twig from one of the branches of the tree to clean his teeth, the normally bitter Margosa branch lost its bitternerss. Till today, it is believed that while the rest of the branches of the tree taste bitter, the branch from which the Guru had pulled off a twig, does not have a bitter taste. The Gurdwara was renovated in 1972. With a holy tank and a spacious hall, Gurdwara Nim Sahib attracts a large number of devotees.
