Gurdwara Damdama Sahib at Dhubri

Thara Sahib



Gurdwara Damdama Sahib is a famous gurdwara at Dhubri in Assam. Devotees believe that Guru Nanak Dev sanctified this place with his presence. Guru Tegh Bahadur also visited this place. Dedicated to Tegh Bahadur, this gurdwara draws a large number of Sikh devotees from all over India. Mound of peace, built by the Hindu and Muslim soldiers during the ancient period, is worth visiting.

Popularly known as Thara Sahib, this gurdwara is built in octagonal shape with sloping roof. Gurdwara Sri Guru Tegbahadur Sahibji is easily accessible from here. By road, Dhubri is about 70 km from Siliguri.
