Gurdwara Baoli Sahib

Gurdwara Baoli Sahib is located on the Ambala-Kaithal Road, near the bus stand, in Pehowa.

This shrine is related to Guru Nanak Dev, who visited this place when local pandits were exploiting and dominating the villagers. The pandits, using religious tricks, kept the people under their power. On one occasion, they made a gold ear-ring of the size of a chariot wheel and threw it into the Saraswati River. They convinced devotees that when the goddess was taking a bath in the river at night, her ear-ring fell into the water and in due course, it grew to such a size.

Guru Nanak Dev came to know about this and he made them realize their mistakes. As a result, the pandits sought forgiveness from the Guru. Guru Nanak Dev stayed here and spent his time by meditating and preaching to the people. The birth anniversaries of Guru Nanak Dev and Guru Gobind Singh are celebrated here.

This Gurdwara is about 27 km from Kaithal, 55 km from Ambala and 27 km from Kurukshetra.
