Gurdwara Bagh Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Ka

Gurdwara Bagh Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Ka is located at Ahraura village, 40 km south of Varanasi in Mirzapur District. Dedicated to the 9th Sikh Guru, Tegh Bahadur, this Gurdwara is popularly known as Gurdwara Bagh Sahib. It is believed that Guru had blessed this place with his presence in 1666 during his journey to Varanasi. With a spacious rectangular hall and many small rooms, this Gurdwara is a beautiful building. There is a small garden at the back of the main sanctum. A manuscript of the Holy Guru Granth Sahib, printed in 1742, is well preserved here. Another attraction is a hand-written breviary (pothi) that contains an autograph of Guru Gobind Singh. This is displayed to the public only on the martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur and the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh. The nearest airport is Varanasi Airport.
