Gunaseelam, also called South Tirupati, is a charming village located on the northern banks of Cauvery River in Tiruchirapalli District, Tamil Nadu. The name ‘Gunaseelam’ is derived from a great saint Maharishi Gunaseelar. Situated about 25 km from Tiruchirapalli, the place is a famous Hindu pilgrim center, housing one of the famous Vishnu temples in the state, the Prasanna Venkatachalapathi Temple. The nearest railway station is Tiruchirapalli Junction Railway Station and Tiruchirapalli Airport is the closest airport.
