The idol of Lord Ganesh is completed on the day of Naraka Chaturdashi (Deepavali) and a special puja is performed. The 8-10 ft tall idol of Lord Ganesh is placed on a raised platform so that the devotees can pay their respects and pray. Irrespective of caste or creed, people from all sections of the society take part in the puja from the day of Deepavali.

The idol will be immersed in Gulur pond after the one-month long puja.
