Gulabo Sitabo is a glove puppet show native to
Uttar Pradesh. This play centers around the quarrels between the two female protagonists - Gulabo and Sitabo.
The puppets are made of molded paper pulp, adorned with glittering jewellery. The show is performed in an open space. The story is depicted through songs, which contain ample amounts of harsh humor and coarse jokes. These songs often contain references to some local incidents.
