Situated at
Faizabad district in
Uttar Pradesh, the Gulab Bari is a beautiful building of fine architecture. The subtle blending of architectural styles is visible in its construction. It stands in a garden surrounded by a wall and is approachable through two large gateways.
The Gulab Bari was earlier known as the mausoleum of Shuja-ud-daula. It was the principal achievement of the period, built by Shuja-ud-daula, the successor of Safdar Jang, the second Nawab of Avadh.
