Girvoddea



Also known as Girvoddea, the village of Guirim is divided into two sections, Vhoddlem Guirim and Dhakttem Guirim. Located near Mapusa, this small village is famous for sacramental wine. The hillock, known as Monte de Guirim that offers a panoramic view, is an attractive feature of the village. The village has a famous school, St Anthony's High School, run by Capuccin-Franciscan monasteries. The Church of St Diogo positioned at the foot of the hillock is also famous here.This tranquil village, spotted with highly imposing mansions, is worth visiting. Among the several mansions, the largest and the most impressive is the palatial house of Gonsalves.
