Gudibanda

Gudibanda is a town situated near Goribidnur, about 55 miles northwest of Kolar and 93 km away from Bangalore. It is the headquarters of the Gudibanda taluk and has a municipality. As it is located at the southern foot of Nandidurga range of hills, which is surmounted by a temple (gudi), the town came to be known by its present name. On the top of the big rock, there is a rock-cut shrine dedicated to Ahobila Narasimha, two ancient Jain temples and the ruins of a fort. It is an ideal place for a day trek.
