Government Museum - Udaipur




Government Museum of Udaipur has an extensive collection of excavated materials and handicrafts. The collections of the museum range from those of 2nd century BC to 17th century AD. The sculpture gallery of the museum has unique and valuable specimens. The paintings of Mewar School from the period of Maharana Jagat Singh (1628-1652 AD) to Maharana Swaroop Singh (1842-1861 AD) are the most remarkable collection of the museum. The natural history section called the children gallery has models of animals like tiger and deer. The museum also exhibits a wide collection of colorful Mewari turbans, coins, inscriptions and local arts. Library facility is available. It functions daily from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs, except on Fridays.
