Established in 1991, Government Museum is situated in
Kanyakumari, the southernmost tip of Indian subcontinent. It has large collections of sundry objects such as old coins, whalebones, tribal objects, bronze sculptures and woodcarvings. The museum also displays a variety of specimens relating to art, archaeology, anthropology, numismatics and philately.
Government museum is open from 09:30 to 17:00 hrs on all days except Fridays, Second Saturdays and national holidays.
