Founded in 1884, the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata, is one of the leading arts colleges in the country. The college was originally known as School of Industrial Art. The college has a gallery of its own, named after Shri Abanindranath Tagore, the famous Indian painter who was also one of the Vice Principals of the institution.
