Gourangapur is a village located in the Asansol subdivision of Bardhaman District. A great impact of Vaishnavism is perceived here. It is assumed that the village got its name after Gouranga, another name of Shri Chaitanya Dev. There is a brick temple called Ichhay Ghose, which dates back more than a hundred and fifty years.
