Gorakhnath Temple




Gorakhnath Temple is an ancient temple situated on the Gorakhpur-Sonauli state highway, about 4 km from Gorakhpur Junction Railway Station, in Uttar Pradesh. The temple is spread over an area of 52 acres. Legend says that Lord Shiva took the avatar of Guru Gorakhnath to bless the region.

The Makar Sankranti Mela held in the temple is a major draw. This festival starts on 14th January and lasts for a month.
