Gopipura in
Gujarat is a holy place named after Gopi, a patron saint of
Surat. It is also said that Gopi was a rich Hindu trader who built many large buildings in the region. It houses many large richly ornamented mansions with woodcarvings. Agama Mandir and many other Jain temples and Jain monasteries can be found here.
