Goph is a beautiful folk dance annually presented by the peasant community in Canacona, Sanguem and Quepem taluks during the Shigmo festival. Goph, the weaving of the plait, is an exotic confluence of colorful cultural strands. It depicts the quite but conscious assimilation of the impressions left behind by the several dynasties, who ruled Goa in the past centuries.
