Gopalakrishnan Temple




Gopalakrishnan Temple is a situated at Tirukkaavalampadi near Sirkazhi in Nagapattinam District. The chief deities of this temple are Gopala Krishnan and his consorts Rukmani and Sathyabhama. The deity is seen in a standing pose with his left arm on a cow. Thatamalar Poikai is the temple teertham. The main festival is Tirumangaialwar Mangalasasana utsavam in the month of Thai (mid January - mid February). Other festival is the Rohini asterism which is celebrated in the Tamil month of Aavani. The nearest railway station is at Sirkazhi (15 km). Buses are available from Sirkazhi and Tiruvenkaadu.
