Gopalakrishna Swamy Temple




Gopalakrishna Swamy Temple is situated, on the banks of the Nila River, in Vaidyanathapuram in Palakkad District. Vaidyanathapuram village is one among the Kalpathy group of villages in Palakkad District. This temple dates back to 120 years.

The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Krishna, known by the name Santhana Gopalakrishna. This idol measures about 2.5 ft in height and is similar to that of Lord Guruvayurappan.

Folklore has it that the idol was found by a villager while bathing in the river. A Shiva temple and a Devi temple are other places of worship in the village.

Vaidyanathapuram temple can be accessed easily from Palakkad Bus Station.
