Goecha




Goecha is a scenic village located 10 km from Samiti Lake in West Sikkim District. The village lies at an altitude of about 5,000 m, on the Samiti Lake trek route, in Tolung Valley. It is the northern-most and the highest point in the trekking itineraries of Sikkim. Goecha Pass is a prominent attraction. The village nestles among forests of pine, magnolia and rhododendron. The region offers splendid views of the Kanchenjunga, Pandim and Kabru. Nearby interesting locations are Thangsing, Tsokha Village, Dzongri and Yuksom. Base camps are available at Thangsing.

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra in West Bengal. The nearest railway stations are at New Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling and Siliguri.
