Gobindghat




Gobindghat is a small settlement in the valley of the river Alaknanda, situated between Joshimath and Badrinath. The settlement consists mostly of the buildings of a Gurdwara. It is the starting point for the trekkers to the Valley of Flowers and Hemkunt. Gobindghat is located about 20 km away from Joshimath where buses or hired taxis are available to this base camp. The shrine of Hemkunt Sahib is about 20 km trek from here. For those who cannot walk all the way to this shrine, mules and sedan chairs can be hired at Gobindghat.
