Gobbi Dance

Gobbi Dance, of coastal Andhra Pradesh, is performed during the Sankranti festival. During the festival, the people adorn the courtyards of their houses using varieties of rangavallis. Gobbillu (balls of cow dung) are kept in the middle of these designs and worshipped with flowers, kumkum and turmeric. In the evening, young girls congregate around these gobbillu to dance and sing.
