Ghosi

Ghosi, on the National Highway 29, is a historical town in Mau District. Baragaon (1 km north), Sohar (8 km west) and Kopaganj (10 Km south) are its nearby places.

The ruins of a large mud fort, built by Raja Ghosh, form the main attraction inside the town. According to oral legends, this fort was believed to have been erected by Asuras.

Ghosi Bus Station and Ghosi Railway Station, on the Indara- Dohrighat rail line, connect the town with different parts of the state. Varanasi Airport is 105 km away.
