Geyzing




Geyzing, the headquarters of West Sikkim District, is a beautiful town situated in the picturesque Himalayas. It is situated at an altitude of 2700 ft above sea level. Geyzing is 110 km west of Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.

Major tourist attractions include Pemayangtse Monastery, Tashiding Monastery, Hin Shan Gompa and Pelling (10 km) – a quaint little town. Geyzing is also a trekker’s paradise. Best time to visit the place is from mid February to May end and mid September to December.

The nearest airport is at Bagdogra, West Bengal, about 124 km from Gangtok. New Jalpaiguri Railway Station in West Bengal is the closest railhead, which is 125 km from Gangtok. Jeeps are available on share basis runs from Geyzing to Pelling for the whole day.
