Geokhali

Geonkhali is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in Midnapore District. It is situated at the confluence of three big rivers namely Damodar, Hooghly and Rupnarayan. Nearby lies the water project developed by the Haldia Development Authority, where it comprises huge water tanks adorned by fir trees on all sides. This place is an ideal picnic spot with its scenic and delightful atmosphere which attracts tourists largely from far and near.

Accommodations are available at the guest houses of Tribeni Tourist Resort situated on the river side. Adjacent to the tourist complex, an amusement park is being developed by the Forest Department. With special permission, one can also visit Geonkhali Water Treatment Plant. Tamluk, Mahishadal, Geonkhali and Maynagarh are other nearby areas of tourist interest.

Kharagpur, situated about 112 km from Kolkata, is the nearest railway station.
