Geendad Dance




Geendad is a folk dance native to Shekhawati region, Rajasthan. A visit to this place is incomplete without witnessing this colorful dance form. This dance is performed during the Holi festival.

Geendad is an exclusive male dance. The men form an inner and an outer circle. The dance consists of a series of movements in which the dancers move about diagonally and exchange their position in the circles. The dancers wield sticks and swords while performing this dance. The musical background is produced by musicians playing the Daf.
