Gaumukh Temple

Gaumukh Temple is located at Mount Abu in Sirohi District. A perennial spring that flows through a sculpted cow's head, gives the temple its name. It is believed that sage Vasishta performed a yagna at this place to regenerate the human race. On foot one has to climb a steep flight of 750 steps to reach the temple. Statues of saint Vasishta, Lord Ram, Lord Krishna and a magnificent marble image of Nandi are placed in the vicinity. A beautifully sculpted hill temple of Arbuada is situated nearby.
