Gatka




Gatka is a famous martial art that originated in Punjab probably in the 15th century. It is practiced in different styles and is based on the use of three kinds of weapons. This ancient martial form helped the Sikhs to defend themselves against the Mughal invaders.

Gatka uses various kinds of weapons such as swords, chains, rope, daggers and sticks. It is believed that Guru Gobind Singh was an expert in the Gatka.

Gatka has gained popularity around the European countries and America.
