Ganga Mahal, a palace, overlooks the
Ganges River and bathing ghats in
Varanasi of
Uttar Pradesh. An extension of
Assi Ghat, it was built by the Maharaja of Banaras in 1830.
A number of beautiful carvings can be seen here. Swedish Study Centre, affiliated to Karlstad University, is located within the palace.
