Ganga Dashmi is a festival celebrating the descent of
Goddess Ganga to the earth. This festival is celebrated in
Madhya Pradesh on the 10th day of the second fortnight of the Hindu month of Jyeshta (May-June).
On this occasion, people take a bath in a river and make offerings to it. This festival is celebrated with much enthusiasm by the tribal people. There is lots of dancing and drinking on the riverside. Many sporting and entertainment activities are held, which is followed by a feast.
