Ganesh Temple




Ganesh temple situated at Srinagar is a well-known ancient temple. The idol of Lord Ganesh, which was saved from the attack of Pathan rulers, is installed at the outer shrine of the temple, adjoining a Sivalinga (symbol of Lord Shiva). The main shrine contains two larger idols of Lord Ganesh.

The temple is managed by a local managing committee. Vaisakha Shukla Chaturdashi and a Mahayajna (a sacred ritual), performed by an organization called Brahman Maha Mandal, are the annual festivals celebrated in this temple.
