Gandhi Sagar Dam and Power Station




Gandhi Sagar Dam and Power Station, built on the Chambal River, is located at Bhanpura in Mandsaur District of Madhya Pradesh. It is about 168 km from Mandsaur.

Foundation stone of the dam was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the late Prime Minister of India, on the 7th March, 1954. The power station is about 65 m long and 17 m wide. The power station has an installed capacity of 115 MW of electricity.

The power station supplies electricity throughout the district as well as to the nearby places in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
