Gandhari was the wife of
Dhritarashtra, and the mother of Kauravas. She blindfolded herself because she believed that she had no right to enjoy anything that was denied to her husband. During the Kurukshetra war, all of her hundred sons were killed and she became very incensed and cursed Krishna that all his dear ones will kill each other. Krishna accepted it as a punishment.
