Ganakkuchi Satra




Ganakkuchi Satra is an ancient religious centre situated in Barpeta, about 12 km from Howly, in Assam. It was established by Sri Madhabdeva, a great reformer who stayed here for about 18 years (1550-1569). Several manuscripts of Shri Ram Ata and Shri Ram Atoi are also preserved here. The satra also preserves a number of Sachipat Puthis composed by Shrimanta Sankardeva.

Barpeta Road Railway Station is the nearest railhead (21 km). Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is the nearest airport.
