Gajpur is a small village situated in
Gorakhpur District of
Uttar Pradesh. It stands on the right bank of the river Rapti, about 38 km south of the district headquarters of
Gorakhpur. Formerly, Gajpur was a place of commercial importance and was a halting place for cargo boats on their voyage up and down the Rapti.
Gajpur can be approached by roads leading from
Kauriram and Gagaha.
