Gahal is a beautiful hamlet, about 30 km north of Barnala. This place is believed to have been blessed by the presence of Guru Har Rai, the seventh Sikh Guru.

It is believed that Guru Har Rai stayed here during his travel through Malva region. There is a gurdwara in the north-eastern part of the village. The gurdwara, named Gurdwara Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib Patshahi VII, has a square sanctum and a domed room. Another attraction is a memorial shrine built in honor of the Ghallughara martyrs.
