Gaggal lies on the outskirts of Kangra, on the National Highway 20. It is around 35 km west of Palampur, a famous hill station at a height of 1249 m. Dharamsala, the district headquarters and a prominent tourist destination, is around 13 km north-east. Kangra Fort is nearby.
Gaggal Airport is situated here. Kangra Railway Station is the nearest rail junction. The place is accessible from Nurpur, Jwalamukhi and Dharamsala.
