Fort St George Museum




Fort St George Museum, established in 1948, is situated within the ramparts of the Fort St George in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu. It is under the management of Archeological Survey of India.

The museum showcases arms, uniforms, medals, porcelains, coins, manuscripts, paintings, prints and textiles of East India Company, Indo French and Odeyars of Mysore. A statue (about 14½-ft-tall) of Lord Cornwallis can be seen in front of the museum.

Fort St George Museum is open from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs on all days, except Fridays and national holidays.
