Feast of Our Lady of Rosary




Feast of Our Lady of Rosary is celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of Rosary in Navelim, South Goa District. The festivities begin every third Wednesday in November and last for three days. Traditional processions and novenas mark the beginning of the feast.

On the festive day, the inside of the church is beautifully adorned and the outside is covered with fairy lights. Most of houses and streets are lit up with colorful lights, which is a beautiful and heart touching view to look at.

A procession carrying the image of Our Lady of Rosary, to the Holy Rosary School, is held during the festival. Children from the school act out scenes from the Bible during this one day consecration of Our Lady.

Special prayers and services are offered at the church on the day of festival. Fireworks displays, Konkani concerts and dance performance of famous artist are staged. A fair is also organized as part of this feast.
