Fair of Umachandramauleshwar is held annually for three days at Mudenooru near Kushtagi in Karnataka. It is perhaps the only religious fair of Karnataka, where women are given primary importance. All the performances on the second day are reserved exclusively for women. On the first and last day of the fair, men take an active part in the activities.
During the celebrations, the chariot of the main deity is carried out in a procession. All the tasks from carrying the lights to pulling the chariot are done by the women. There is lot of fun, excitement and cheer all round on that day.
