Erisseri is a typical early summer dish in Kerala. It is prepared from plantains and yams with green chilies, coconut, cumin seeds and turmeric. This simple curry has a texture and aroma peculiarly and delightfully its own. Chakka Erisseri is a variety, which is prepared with fully-grown but not yet ripe green jack fruit.
