Built on a site blessed by the Lama Druptab Karpo, Enchey Monastery is 3 km from the main town of Gangtok. This 200-year-old monastery belongs to Nyingma Order and has around 90 monks. It has images of gods, goddesses and other religious objects in its premises. On every 18th and 19th days of the 12th month of the lunar calendar, its annual ritual is celebrated with 'Chaam' or religious masked dance. Gods worshiped here are Buddha, Loki Sharia and Guru Padmasambhava.
