The Embassy of Sweden in India has been set up with the purpose of extending both routine and emergency services to Swedish citizens residing or in transit in India and to ensure their overall security and welfare whilst in the country. The Embassy is also responsible for the Swedish Honorary Consulates in India (
Kolkata,
Chennai and
Mumbai); Nepal (Katmandu) and the Maldives (Malé). The Embassy of Sweden in India is located at
Chanakyapuri, the diplomatic enclave of
New Delhi.
Embassy’s services include issuing emergency passports and immigrant and non-immigrant visas, notarization and attestation, cultural exchange, offering consultancy services for commercial ventures, representing its citizens while talking to local authorities, offering them assistance in case of emergencies and purveying necessary tourist and local information for the needy.
Indira Gandhi International Airport is 15 km to the north-west of Chanakyapuri. The Swedish Embassy is about 12 km to the south-west of New Delhi Railway Station and is around 15 km from the Interstate Bus Stand at Kashmiri Gate.
