Elk Hill Murugan Temple is situated on Elk hill, which is one of the picturesque hills located at Ooty in Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga.
Devotees throng this temple during the months of January and February for the Thaipusam festival. They carry with them brass vessels filled with milk, which is meant to be offered to the lord. Some of them also carry the ‘kavadi’ (palanquins), which is decorated with flowers, peacock feathers and brass bells.
