Edaya Nritham

Edaya Nritham is mainly performed by tribal shepherds. Both men and women take part in this tribal dance. In Edaya Nritham, one of the performers sings a song. This is repeated in chorus by all the rest. As the singing goes on, one of them imitates the special sounds of shepherds driving their sheep. Some of the performers in the group play the role of wild animals that try to attack the sheep and also the thief who tries to rob them. The other members of the group bring out the terror on the faces of the lambs.
