Edathua Perunal is an annual festival, held at
St George Church, in
Edathua of
Alappuzha District. It is a ten day festival and generally falls in April-May. Edathua Perunal commences with ceremonial flag hoisting.
During the feast, the statue of St George, adorned with gold regalia, is placed on the central dais of the basilica. Devotees from all parts of South India, irrespective of caste and creed, assemble here on this occasion.
