Edathpurath Temple

Located about 1 km north of Kongad Thirumandhamkunnu, the Edathpurath Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Poonthanam Nambudiri, the renowned Bhaktha Kavi installed the deity of Krishna here.

Legend says that Poonthanam used to visit Guruvayoor once in every month by foot from his illam (house), which is 60 km away. In his old days, he was not capable of walking such a long distance, on seeing him in such a position Lord Krishna appeared on the left hand side of Poonthanam and said that you need not go to Guruvayoor to see me, I am here with you.

Hence, the place was called Idath Puram meaning left side. He started pooja to the deity and a small temple came there.

The temple is located at Angadipuram.
